Covid-19: variants and vaccination

Background Tablet splitting can provide dose flexibility and cost savings; however, pharmaceutical representatives typically discourage the practice. Aim To identify summarise all published concerns related to tablet present experimental evidence that investigates those concerns. Design & setting Systematic review qualitative synthesis of tablet-splitting evidence. Method Medline EMBASE databases were searched over years publication for articles in English discussing tablets. Eligible included original research, narrative reviews, systematic expert opinion. Results After removing duplicates, 1837 potentially relevant underwent dual review, whereupon 1612 excluded based on title abstract. examination 225 full texts, 138 (one four 101 research articles, 32 opinion articles). The described difficulty breaking tablets, loss mass, weight variability, chemical instability, overly rapid dosing if sustained-release medications are split, non-compliance, patient confusion resulting medication errors. No substantive was found support regarding or non-compliance.
